Periodic Products Awarded Japanese Patent for Plastics, Fibers and Related Applications

Periodic Products today announced that the Company has been awarded Japanese Patent No. 5639166 for its proprietary plastics and fibers. The patent, which is registered with the Japan Patent Office, also covers all related applications of the Company’s polymer technology.
The Japanese patent is the Company’s tenth international patent for its family of polymers.
Periodic Products today announced that the Company has been awarded Hong Kong Patent No. HK1149775 for its patented chelating compounds. The patent, which is registered with the Hong Kong Intellectual Property Department, also covers all related applications of the Company’s chelating technology.
According to Joseph Laurino, Periodic Products CEO and founder, the Hong Kong patent further enhances the Company’s intellectual property portfolio as it extends its international presence.

As Hong Kong is both a significant market and integral to Asia’s largest economies, this new patent puts Periodic Products in an enhanced position to capitalize on these markets."
The Hong Kong patent is the Company’s ninth international patent for its family of chelation polymers.
Periodic Products Inc. announced today that it has received a grant from the Florida Industrial and Phosphate Research (FIPR) Institute. The grant has been awarded to further demonstrate the commercial application of the Company’s polymer-based metal extraction technology to the phosphate mining industry.
The project, entitled Extraction and Recovery of Rare Earth Elements from Phosphate Using PX-107 and Chelok® Polymers, will investigate using raw materials and waste by-products of the phosphate industry as potential sources of rare earth elements.
The Institute was created by the Florida Legislature to study energy, mining and mineral processing issues impacting the environment and economy of the state, as well as the health of Florida’s citizens.

Periodic Products Inc. announced today that it has entered into an exclusive licensing and manufacturing agreement with Two Little Fishies Inc. for its Chelok® metal chelation polymer technology in the marine aquarium marketplace.
Two Little Fishies is an international manufacturer of high-quality products for aquariums, water gardens and the aquaculture markets. The products from the new joint venture will be sold under the brand name Metasorb UHC™, and will be available worldwide in leading aquarium and pet stores and through domestic and international distributors.

Periodic Products today announced that the Company has been awarded Australian Patent No. 2008334043 for its patented chelating compounds. The patent, which is registered with the Australian Department of Innovation, Industry, Science & Research, also covers all related applications of the Company’s chelating technology.
The Australian patent further enhances the Company’s intellectual property portfolio as Periodic Products expands its international presence. According to Joseph Laurino, CEO and Company founder, Australia represents a significant market for the Company’s technology.

The patent, which is registered with the State Intellectual Property Office of the People’s Republic of China, also covers all related applications of the Company’s chelating technology.
The Chinese patent further enhances the Company’s intellectual property portfolio as Periodic Products expands its international presence, according to Joseph Laurino, CEO and Company founder.

Periodic Products today announced that the Company’s president and CEO, Joseph P. Laurino, PhD, was an invited speaker at the Critical Materials Institute’s 2014 Workshop on Rare Earths and Uranium from Phosphate Ore. The workshop was held January 16, 2014 at the Florida Industrial and Phosphate Research Institute in Bartow, FL.
The presentation, titled "Rapid and Efficient Removal of Rare Earth Elements from Acidic Solutions," described the use of the Company’s proprietary Chelok® Polymer Technology to remove and recover rare earth metals from phosphogypsum and other phosphate mining waste materials.

Periodic Products Awarded Indonesian Patent on Fundamental Technology for Metal-Binding Polymers

Periodic Products today announced that the Company has received notice of an Indonesian Deeds of Letters Patent number P0033301, which covers fundamental aspects of the Company’s Chelok® metal binding technology. This proprietary technology is applicable to multiple metal binding applications in several areas, including water purification and treatment, mining operations, and corrosion prevention.
