Melvin Seid MD

Melvin Seid is a board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He received his MD from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, and completed his residency in OB/GYN at Wake Forest University’s Baptist Medical Center, where he served as administrative chief resident.

Dr. Seid is a partner emeritus of Lyndhurst Gynecologic Associates, where he was the Director of Clinical Research from 1999 to 2015. Dr. Seid has been the principal investigator in over 50 clinical trials, and has published in several peer reviewed scientific journals, including American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is also chairman emeritus of the Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center (NHFMC), where he led a staff of over 50 obstetricians/gynecologists managing over 6,000 deliveries annually.

Dr. Seid’s research activities have included contraception, HPV, and iron deficiency anemia. In 2008, he received the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine Award of Research Excellence for his work in the treatment of postpartum anemia. Since 2004, Dr. Seid has been a certified physician Investigator through the Academy of Physicians in Clinical Research. He is also a consultant for Novant Health, helping develop their enterprise-wide health information system for 13 hospitals.
