Periodic Products Awarded Japanese Patent for Conductive Polymer Technology

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Fort Lauderdale, FL April 4, 2019

Periodic Products Inc. announced today that it has been awarded a patent from the Japan Patent Office (no. 6446053) for the Company’s conductive polymer technology and related processes.

The Company’s conductive and specialty polymers are an extension of its family of proprietary polymers. Developed to be a key component of newer lightweight batteries, the technology offers manufacturers significant design and engineering advantages.

Japan – a dominant worldwide producer of automobiles and electronics – is anticipated to be enthusiastic adopters of the Company’s new technology. “We are excited about the applications of our technology in these two industries,” said Joseph Laurino, PhD, President and CEO of Periodic Products.

“Reducing weight has been a fundamental challenge of battery technology, particularly in the development of electric-powered automobiles,” Laurino continued. “Lightweight batteries will translate to longer distances these vehicles can travel between charges.”

Japan is currently the world’s second largest producer of passenger cars, manufacturing 8.36 million units in 2018. “Our conductive polymers have the potential to radically transform the electric vehicle market,” said Laurino.
