Periodic Products today announced that the Company has been awarded Hong Kong Patent No. HK1149775 for its patented chelating compounds. The patent, which is registered with the Hong Kong Intellectual Property Department, also covers all related applications of the Company’s chelating technology.
According to Joseph Laurino, Periodic Products CEO and founder, the Hong Kong patent further enhances the Company’s intellectual property portfolio as it extends its international presence.
"Asia has rapidly growing economies and expanding manufacturing sectors," explained Laurino. "With this growth comes pressing water concerns and associated environmental issues. As Hong Kong is both a significant market and integral to Asia’s largest economies, this new patent puts Periodic Products in an enhanced position to capitalize on these markets."
The Hong Kong patent is the Company’s ninth international patent for its family of chelation polymers.
